About Oroona
About Oroona
Oroona was born from the union of two meaningful words: “or”, which means “gold” in French, and “oona”, a Tupi-Guarani–inspired word that evokes the idea of light or purity. Gold and light – two symbols that represent the soul of our brand: natural beauty, ancestral roots, and purpose.
It all started with a trip to the heart of Brazil, to a small community in Tocantins where time follows the rhythm of nature and the artisans’ hands tell ancient stories. It was there, in the middle of the cerrado, that we discovered golden grass – a unique plant with a natural golden glow and enchanting beauty, harvested with deep respect for the land.
Fascinated by the elegance of the pieces and the skill of local artisans, we realized this was more than just craft – it was livelihood, living culture, and a powerful example of how tradition and sustainability can coexist.
That’s how Oroona was born – with a mission to share the beauty of Brazilian golden grass jewelry with the world, while supporting artisan communities and fostering sustainable development. Every piece we create carries the spirit of the cerrado, ancestral knowledge, and a commitment to the future.
By supporting artisans and promoting fair trade, we help preserve this tradition and directly support the economic growth of families who depend on it. More than jewelry, we offer stories woven with meaning, respect, and authenticity.
Our dedication to sustainable development is at the heart of who we are: we use natural materials, follow responsible practices, and honor every step of the artisanal process. Because we believe that fashion can – and must – be a force for good.
As we expand to international markets, we invite the world to discover this genuinely Brazilian beauty – connecting cultures and inspiring more conscious choices.
